Claire Umney - Managing Director, Alwayse Engineering Ltd

Claire Umney is the Managing Director of Alwayse, a Birmingham-based global leader in the design and manufacture of ball transfer units and material handling solutions.

Since joining in January 2024, Claire has been pivotal in steering the company through a new phase of innovation and international growth, focusing on delivering high-impact and cost-effective solutions that enhance productivity and employee well-being across diverse industrial sectors.

She is member of the West Midlands Combined Authority Logistics and Distribution Cluster Advisory Board as well as the advisory board for the Training and Manufacturing Group (TMG) and a very active member of MakeUK.

Claire holds a BSc in Logistics and Transport Management from the University of Huddersfield and has nearly 3 decades of experience in material handling, logistics automation, supply chain technology and global trade.

Claire's earlier career includes senior roles at Breathe Technologies, AEB International, CEVA Logistics, and TNT, where she specialised in designing and implementing strategic IT initiatives and integrated logistics solutions across various industries, including aerospace, retail, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals.
