Dr. Jelena Milisavljevic-Syed is an Associate Professor in Manufacturing Systems at Cranfield University, joining in September 2022. Previously, she was an Assistant Professor in Industrial Design and Director of the Systems Realization Laboratory at the University of Liverpool. She earned her PhD in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma in 2018. An internationally recognised leader in AI-supported design for dynamic management of evolving cyber-physical systems, her expertise includes modelling capabilities and decision-making tools for complex systems. Dr. Milisavljevic-Syed's work advances digitisation and sustainability in smart manufacturing and healthcare systems. She has co-authored a monograph, 31 journal publications, 36 technical publications, and several magazine articles. She is an Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Liverpool and a member of IEEE, MIET, ASME, ASEE, Design Society, and the EPSRC Peer Review College.
